Taiwan passed same-sex marriage on May 17, 2019, making it the first country to achieve it in Asia. At that moment, some people criticized this act, claiming that "it will ruin the tradition of Taiwan." At the same time, LGBTQ rights supporters are optimistic about the positive influence on people's attitudes toward the LGBTQ community.
This project is aimed to review the milestone of Taiwan LGBTQ history and brings reflections through examining the datasets from the government and organizations. Moreover, I would like to introduce more insights into Taiwan to English speakers and bridge the gap between Taiwan and the world.
